I've realized I've been doing most of my MCU/Captain America/Winter Soldier musing and squeeing over on my tumblr instead of here because most of you are not here for my MCU/Captain America/Winter Soldier musing (or fic), but I didn't actually mean to do that beyond pictures and comics reposting. Especially because Tumblr is terrible at conversations and I value what you folks have to say.
Anyway, to recap (pun absolutely intended): there are new stills out today, which are notable because they include a great shot of the Falcon and the accompanying text has a rather excellent quote from Chris Evans:
There are also stills from a fortnight ago, featuring Bucky, Fury, Natasha, [Robert Redford's character], and Steve, the last of whom is showing a little too much visible makeup. But they all look good and I am still thrilled with how good the rendering of the Winter Soldier has looked in real life (and that's hair, not guyliner).

“Meeting [Anthony] Mackie’s character, he used to serve, now he works at the VA counseling guys who come home with PTSD — they connect on that level,” Evans continues. “I think they’re both wounded warriors who don’t bleed on other people. Cap has no one to bleed on. I think [Mackie] knows how to handle people like that."Which I think is a really superb way to go about introducing Sam Wilson into the MCU and, especially, setting up a foundation for Sam and Steve to have a solid relationship. And that's before Bucky even enters into the picture, since he's going to bleed rivers.

Date: 2014-01-11 05:42 (UTC)I know just enough of the military to get annoyed and/or offended by lots of fics (and the shows they're based on) that clearly have NO CONCEPT of what actual military stuff is like. (Usually it's not bad enough to spoil it for me, but it does affect my enjoyment.) Having someone in my fandoms--first SG and now Cap--who writes the military well is awesome. And I'm not on tumblr because every time I try to go there it is annoying to deal with.
Those are some great clips, and I am excited for Sam Wilson; isn't it time for a new trailer to be out yet?
