Of you brought to the Hellfire Club as a prisoner and Shaw giving me the choice of turning you into an obedient servant of the Inner Circle or letting Emma do it. I don’t know if I have the skill for such a delicate task, one to be tried for the first time upon a mind as formidable as yours.

"I don’t know that I could do it well, but I do know that Emma couldn’t do it at all. And then I wake up screaming because my choice is to rip out your soul or let her destroy you entirely and irreparably.

"Please stay where you are, wherever it is that you are, and don’t force that choice upon me."

Erik: "If it should ever come down to that choice, Charles, I ask that you kill me instead."

Charles: "This is you telling me you won’t stay away, isn’t it."

Erik: "No, this is me telling you that it doesn’t matter what I do. There are a hundred ways your nightmare comes to pass. I’d like you to be prepared for all of them."

The outline's at ten thousand words and I'm possibly past the halfway point, but maybe not. The story itself... oh my goodness. And it's entirely seperis's fault. (Not really, I do this to myself, but she's egged me on.)

(I have a very real fear that I will write a novel that nobody will want to read because of the lack of nookie.)

Please, do write a novel. I will cherish it and promote everywhere I can. I long for novels, short-stories, ANYTHING without any kind of 'nookie'. There are not enough good gen writing. Or good writing with only hints to the possibility of a more intimate relationship. Stories ending inevitably with sex or focusing on romantic relationship instead of friendship tend to bore me after several years in this otherwise wonderful world of fanfiction. Your writing is my safety zone, when I really can't stand any more stereotypical slash (while I like it very much, if it's well written - and while there is an undeniable chemistry between Erik and Charles in the movie, there are times you simply want to read a well written novel about friendship, about enemies, a character study...).
I also would like to tell you what a marvelous discovery were you two stories in this fandom: like a like a breath of clean air. Thank you for your serene, simple, but oh so suggestive style of writing. In few words you tell more than others in thousands sentences, because every word has its place, every sentence is connected to others and necessary.

Thank you very much! I'd like to think I'm a much more polished writer than my first go-round in X-fic. (It's been ten years, I should hope so...) But it's always nice to hear it from someone else. :)
