Not sure what the market's like right now with the insanity in trying to buy a car - new or used - in general, but I have always done well with the car rental places that sell off their rentals a year or two after putting them into service. (I've used Hertz Car Sales twice, but they're not the only ones who do/did this). You're limited to the brand they partner with, of course, but at least you know the vehicles aren't lemons and you get their full service record to find out what did have issues. You're starting with a higher mileage than normal used cars of the same age, but it doesn't sound like you intend to put on lots of miles yourself, so one of them could still be quite serviceable and maybe not quite so nerve wracking to buy on-line.
