A belated public Happy New Year to all who celebrate.
As we head into the hours before Yom Kippur and the bonfire that will be yahrtzeit and shabbas candles at once, I'd like to ask forgiveness of anyone I might have (must have) offended or insulted through word or deed. Or both at once, since I do that. I also wipe clean anything I might hold against anyone else so that I might go into the final Days of Awe reckoning with only that one last apology to make.
An easy fast for those partaking (I'm off the hook this year) and may you all be inscribed in the Book of Life with only the sweetest words.
