Back in the USSR
Spotted at the Eastern European supermarket: CCCP brand ice cream. My first question is why? and my second question is 'is it any good?'...
Did buy Korovka wafer cookies, which are apparently made by a company named Rot Front, which I hope sounds better in Russian. Also Roshen candies of various types and BEPEC cherry preserves, because there is no politics in my shopping cart. And Latvian-style bread and Polish tea and yellow carrots and pickles and radishes. The food fetish in my fic is come by honestly.

I also love rose petal jam. I actually meant to buy the big jar of Tunas rose preserves because they're runny enough to be a perfect accompaniment to yogurt, but they had every flavor except that one -- including nuts in honey. (I went with apricot, which seems to have entire dried apricot halves in suspension.) The more exotic the jam flavor, the better, so I end up buying things like sea buckthorn preserves.
