I'm glad your folks are muddling through -- it's a low bar to clear, but we live in strange times.

The attention span disappearing seems to be a common thing. I look at my cats and how they get bored by toys they love and go "well, if you only had three things to do all day, you'd get bored, too" and that's where we are as well.
