Xena (and Hercules and early Stargate) owned their cheapness, so you didn't mind. It was the quality you expected from Saturday afternoon television on Channel 9. AOS, on the other hand, is expecting -- and expected -- to share the same standards as the movies and it is failing badly on that front.
